Hamato!

Hamato is a Ruby on Rails plugin that allows you to add a dynamic glossary of terms to any page on your site. By passing it a hash of words, it will replace all occurrences of those words on your page with a pop-up link (or whatever you like) that shows a definition you provide of that term.

Health-evidence.ca (re)-launches

We launched the new Ruby on Rails 2.0 - based re-design of www.health-evidence.ca, a premier resource for public health information. Along with a new, stream-lined design, the new site features:

  • enhanced searching and filtering of articles
  • in-line content management
  • integrated content creation workflow and collaboration system
  • complete re-write of previous VB.NET 1.0/SQL Server application to Ruby on Rails 2.0 with MySQL database

The new site will augment and replace paper-based activities supporting the creation of articles and evidence published through the site.

Our thanks to Dr. Maureen Dobbins and her team for their hard work in realizing the promise of our initial development in the new system launched today.
