Justin Hogeterp President/Chief Metaphor Mixer
"I am bringing grammar back!"Justin's primary responsibility is to make sure that Fluid Media clients and team members reach an advanced state of contentment. Since 'joy' is a highly elusive state of being, the job is not without its challenges. Nevertheless, Justin is happy to wake up each morning in pursuit of this goal and manages by first listening, then thinking, and then speaking. It is a step-by-step process that he continues to learn the hard way in 12 years of leading Fluid Media and throughout his 20-year career in the software business.

Bart Jedrocha Developer / Rhymenocerous
"Is it beer o'clock yet?"A member of Fluid Media's Development team since 2008, Bart is known for his awesome air drumming skills and rhyme-making ability. He holds a degree in Software Engineering from McMaster University and loves to hack in Ruby. At Fluid Media, Bart plays a key role in many of the company's core projects and is an active contributor to the open-source community, including development of the Koala Video Server. When not hacking code, he enjoys listening to and discovering new music, backcountry camping, and mountain biking. Unlike other developers, Bart's Ballmer Peak is measured in Polish Perogies, with the sweet spot being 38 to 45.

Chris Prodeus Developer
"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" Chris has been a member of the Fluid Media team for the past 10yrs. Using his knowledge of Microsoft technologies to provide solutions for the company's commercial clients.Expertise/Interests: C, VB, ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server
Christopher Foy Barista
"Javascript is like Gigli, it's truly not as bad as everyone thinks." As an 8-year-old, Chris began programming in Basic on his Commodore 64. In the DOS era, he discovered a fondness for using a hex editor to hack CGA games and give himself unlimited lives. At university, Chris studied many languages, including French, Latin, Ancient Greek, and English, but eventually realized that perl and python were even more fun to write. This led him to study Software Engineering at Mohawk College from which he graduated with honours in 2009. When not trying to convince others that vim is the best IDE, Chris likes to ensure that the development team is suitably caffeinated. Danny Frade Y2K Compliance Manager
"The snozberries taste like snozberries" People often say 'keep your friends close, and your enemies closer', which is how Danny's software career started. Startled at a young age by the unnerving news that Skynet would become self-aware at 2:14am on August 29, 1997 Danny decided to devote his life to saving the the lives of Sarah and John Connor. By getting close to the machines, learning their languages and gaining their trust, he has managed to stave off the Skynet invasion successfully to this day. David Heisey IT Samurai
"Think like a man of action. Act like a man of thought" The love/hate relationship with computing all started back in 1980's when David's mom brought home their first computer, a Tandy 1000 HX, and she needed her 7 year old son to hook it up. That was David's first foray into computers and technology and he has immersed himself in it ever since. Working at FMi helps fuel David's passion for computing as there are a wide variety of opportunities and technologies that he is exposed to on a regular basis. Starting as IT support in 2003, David quickly proved himself as the consummate IT professional and now manages FMi's entire infrastructure. Josh Thomson Quality Assurance
"I attempt to diminish the effects of Murphy's law" Josh graduated from Mohawk College with diplomas in Business Management and Marketing. Josh began as a summer student in 2008 and was offered full time employment the same year. Josh understands the importance between client specifications and what is expected in web application development. Continuously working with web applications has given him a keen sense of what is needed to make a web application successful. Josh is devoted to ensuring the web applications created at Fluid Media meet and exceed client expectations. Kyle Goddard Developer
"Imagination is more important than knowledge." ~ Albert Einstein Kyle is the newest member of the FMI development team. Kyle after earning his A+ certification spent a few years working as an administrator at a small software development company. At said company it became apparent that the best part of the job was the coding. Kyle upped his roots and went back to school where he graduated from Sheridan College with a diploma in computer programming. Kyle is excited to be working with the talented bunch at FMI, where there is a great opportunity to learn and grow as a programmer. Expertise/Interests: Java, Objective-C, Javascript, working on Ruby and many others!
Marcel Guldemond Senior Space Cadet
"Look! Squirrels!" Marcel has been working in software for over ten years, including at least six at Fluid Media, which makes him the resident old guy. He started coding in C, and then did a lot of work in VB, but wasn't very sad to see the back sides of those languages, and has been happily working with C# and .NET technologies for the last 5 or so years. One day, when he's not quite so busy coding or painting, he will write some articles about how software management processes can work with the creative process to successfully get things done, and especially how those processes differ between the realms of computer programming and art-making. His other part time job is being an artist, and as an artist, he's painted a ridiculously wide variety of subject matter. He is easily distracted, especially by shiny things. Michelle Hodgson Office Nanny
"It's beer o'clock!" Michelle has been the Fluid Media Office Nanny since 2000. She is responsible for keeping the day to day operations of Fluid Media running smoothly and making sure everyone is happy and following the rules. Out of paper towels? Need to get paid? She can make it happen! Michelle graduated with honours from the Mohawk College Human Resources Management program and recently attained her designation as a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP). Michelle has started playing hockey and has dreams of going to the Olympics as the founder and captain of the Jamaican women's hockey team.

Mike Trpcic Greek God of Software Development
"The amount of dried meat inside me is astounding." The most handsome member of Fluid Media's development team, Mike often works with a burlap sack over his head so that his statuesque good looks don't distract his co-workers. Mike contributes to Fluid Media's core projects, as well as the open source community by releasing plugins and gems (such as CleanerUpper. During downtime, he prefers to spend his time destroying the opposition in any games with guns or robots. Expertise/Interests: Python, Ruby, Rails, Gaming, Dried Meat
Thea Mundell Junior Designer
"If you never did you should. These things are fun and fun is good." — Dr. Seuss" Thea is the newest addition to the FMI design team as of March 2011. She graduated from Sheridan's Bachelor of Illustration program in 2010 receiving honours and a Gold award at her graduation show. Sheridan effectively taught her that you are never finished your education. So, with that desire to learn and a compulsive need to create she has happily arrived at Fluid Media, learning something new everyday. Expertise/Interests: Design, CSS3, HTML, Coffee, Building Forts
